I'm delighted to announce that I have managed to secure the Brighton Racecourse as the venue for an additional 'Take Five Fairs' Fleamarket and Collectables Fair, the fifth Sunday, the 31st of October 2010.
Set high on the Sussex Downs, on the outskirts of Brighton's vibrant city, the seaside course boasts spectacular views over Brighton and Hove, the Brighton Marina and the English Channel. The venue has, in the words of Channel 4’s website, “undoubtedly one of the most picturesque settings of any course”. The Racecourse is regarded as one of the leading venues in the region for exhibitions, conferences, meetings, parties, training events and, of course, racing. The Race course already hosts a wide variety of public events which include motor shows, camera shows, doll festivals, dolls house and teddy bear fairs, equestrian art exhibitions, jukebox shows, wedding exhibitions and also outdoor markets.
The Fair will be staged in two adjacent halls but I also plan to offer outside pitches, purely on a casual basis - just turn up on the day. Let's hope the weather is good! Catering facilities will be available in the café area. The Racecourse is easy to reach from the A27 Brighton bypass and this route avoids any traffic congestion in the main town. There is plenty of car parking and it is free.
The Fair will open to the Public at 9am and close at 4pm. Dealers will be able to gain entry at an earlier hour. Single inside stands will be £35, doubles £55. Outside pitches will be £30 per car, or £40 per medium van.
I am excited to offer this additional Fair at a new venue and hope this one is going to be a WINNER for all of us! The Brighton Racecourse, Freshfield Road, Brighton, East Sussex, BN2 9XZ - where the turf meets the surf!
As well as the Racecourse itself there are plenty of other things to do and see in Brighton. As well as the marina and beach, there are the attractions on the pier and literally hundreds of great bars and restaurants. Brighton's full of energy and a cool place to be seen in. Visit the Royal Pavillion (Brighton's very own palace) and see the stunning Regency architechture and Victorian aquariums. Lots of great shops too. And if you want a bit a cuture there always the museums and art gallery to visit after the flea market.
Just a short stretch outside Brighton in the beautiful East Sussex countryside can be found a myriad of historical buildings and beauty spots such as castles, parks & gardens and country houses.
